Boombound

Read the wind. Blast the island. Rule the sky!

Every shot carves a real crater into the island, and the wind never stays still for long. Boombound is a free turn-based artillery game inspired by classics like Gunbound and Worms that runs right in your browser, on desktop or mobile, with no download and no account required.

How to play

  1. Press Play. On your turn, check the wind indicator at the top of the screen to see how strongly the breeze will push your shell.
  2. Use your move fuel to roll left or right along the hills for a cleaner firing angle or better cover.
  3. Pick your weapon: Shot 1 (Pulse Shell) for reliable single-target damage, Shot 2 (Tri-Cluster) to split into three bomblets at the apex, or SS (Orbital Skybeam) once your SP gauge reaches 100%.
  4. Aim and fire by dragging directly on the screen (slingshot style) or by adjusting your angle with W/S and holding Space to charge power.
  5. Blast every rival Mobile off the island — either by draining their HP to zero or by carving away the ground beneath them so they drop into the sea!

Controls

Computer

  • Mouse drag: drag on the battlefield to set angle and power, then release to fire.
  • A / D or Left / Right arrows: drive your Mobile along the terrain (uses fuel).
  • W / S or Up / Down arrows: fine-tune firing angle.
  • 1, 2, 3: switch between Pulse Shell (1), Tri-Cluster (2) and Ion Skybeam (SS).
  • Hold Space: charge power bar and release to fire.
  • P or Esc: pause. M: mute sound.

Touch screen

  • Drag your finger on the battlefield to aim the dotted trajectory arc and release to fire.
  • Move buttons at the bottom-left: roll left or right.
  • Weapon buttons (1, 2, SS) and Fire button on the bottom tactical bar.

Tips

  • High angles (65° or higher) grant a High Angle skill bonus with extra score and faster SP charge, but they stay in the air longer and curve much more in strong wind.
  • Do not waste turns chipping away at a heavy enemy on a narrow bridge: blast the terrain underneath them for an instant Splash KO in the water.
  • Tri-Cluster (Shot 2) splits near the top of its arc. Fire it with enough height so the three bomblets spread across wide ridges.
  • Save your 100% SP Orbital Skybeam (SS) for clustered enemies or the Stage 10 Dreadnought Boss — it calls down a vertical laser that carves a massive crater.
  • Spend the stars you earn in the Mobile Hangar to upgrade Alloy Hull (+HP), Blast Core (+damage), Turbo Treads (+fuel) and Wind Scope (+starting SP and longer aim preview).

About Boombound

Boombound brings classic 2D artillery duels into quick, punchy browser matches. Instead of waiting in slow lobbies, you jump straight into a 10-stage campaign across three vibrant biomes: Starlight Canyon, Coral Atoll and Magma Foundry.

Every explosion reshapes the heightmap terrain in real time. Craters expose hidden enemies, tilt firing angles and open lethal drops into the ocean below. Enemy Mobiles come in four archetypes — Grunts, Snipers, Heavies and the Stage 10 Dreadnought Boss — each calculating wind-compensated arcs.

Whether you prefer the classic keyboard rhythm of adjusting degrees and holding the Spacebar power meter, or pulling back a touch slingshot on your phone, Boombound gives you both control styles out of the box.
